BAZ was on 8th July 2010 invited to participate in the Zambia - Brazil Business Forum held at Pamodzi Hotel. This was a forum where business men and women from both countries came together to explore business possibilities in both countries.
The association chairman Prof. Thomson Sinkala also made a presentation at the event at which he gave an outlook and potential of the biofuels industry in Zambia.
He pointed out that Zambia should use the opportunity availed by the high-level commitment between the two countries to tap into the rich and world class Brazilian experience to propel Zambia's biofuels industry.
The Forum was closed by speeches by both Presidents Lula of Brazil and Banda of Zambia.
During the two-day visit by President Lula, Zambia and Brazil signed Memoranda of Understanding in the fields of, among others, bio-fuels production and food services aimed at reducing hunger in the two countries.
